Iron Man 3 - Tony Stark (Workshop Version) by OMG
More Goth appropriate.
Test results are coming in - it’s looking good!
I will be writing a quick ‘how to’ on the column/shelf + arch. ALT key will be needed to place it how it was intended. I wish it could all be on one mesh but the design would have suffered immensely.
More tests, more tiny errors.
Night time at the Goths. It was fun to revisit this family and revamp their home during these tests. If only it were possible to now release the house too, but I don’t use sim3packs.
After much excitement over figuring out the faux 3x arch being able to go diagonal, it appears that while it looks good, it is un-routable**, so keeping the ‘ugly’ diagonal (V1) would be a visual reminder that ‘sorry bubby, it’s not going to work.’ … . If only they’d pantomime it rather than just stomp their foot - I could see releasing it just for a good laugh (**Huge thanks to Pocci and Sandy for giving this some assistance - if someone knows how to write custom scripts and wants a challenge, let me know).
I suspect after taking some more photos (yup) and writing a couple of tutorial type notes to go along with the set that it will be ready for release. The set as it stands right this second could be released right now. It’s now taking the time to write the post at my blog during a work week. If I can’t get it done by the weekend it will be early next week. Weekend releases are utterly depressing and lacklustre, so if it isn’t done by Thursday, it will be Monday or Tuesday.
There are days I just love the lighting in game.

Miniature Fairy Doors | by Jonathan Wright
All this magic began for Jonathan Wright, children’s book author and founder of Urban Fairies Operations, when he decided to install some miniature ‘fairy doors’ in various corners around his house, much to the delight and surprise of his young kids. Soon after, he decided to take the tiny doors public for all to enjoy, at various establishments around the city of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
If you open these doors, you can glimpse the intricately designed interiors, complete with stairways and miniature furniture inside. The first public door was built at Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea in 2005. Peering into its window, you could spot a table and chairs, a newspaper.. even cups of coffee (fairies need their boost, too)! Now, this initiative has extended from the city’s local theatre, shoe shop and bakery, all the way to the Google offices, where the fairies “Giggle”.
My favourites of the entire collection include the latest wing at C.S.Mott Children’s Hospital, ‘Wing Wing’, and the space built into a row of books at the public library. The windows in each book peer into the tiny fairy reading nook inside, with its very own wing-backed fairy armchair (armchair with a hole in the back to let the wings out haha)!
So between Pocci and Heidi, the diagonal position of the faux arch finally works correctly.(Heidi says “Pocci did all the work.” and Pocci says “I did only a little.” BAH! Both of ya’s … . awesome!!
You can see the shelf/column doesn’t place as well on the diagonal as it’s narrower (and the ALT cheat will be needed to align it correctly on the diagonal [not the normal version] - WITHOUT MoveObjects cheat please - you want to make sure it doesn’t hit the sweet spot in the center [the placement turns green when it’s okay to place]). Turns out workshop doesn’t like to have it’s settings fiddled with, but the s3pe plugin was the key work around.
Thank you ladies!! Very excited. Nearly every tutorial out there said this could not be done.
The set will release Tuesday. Keep an eye out!

Miss You Much Leslie Cheung (Passion Tour Version) by ON.CC
I originally bought a Sweeney Todd head thinking I couldn’t afford the complete figure. Well, I did buy the figure and yesterday decided to use the head which I repainted with acrylics. One of the best washes for skin tones I found were Sennellier Acrylique: 250 Flesh Ochre and 650 Blush Tint. I was really pleased how nicely he painted up. Now Sweeney has a doppleganger.
Incredibly Elaborate Miniature Fairy Castle
This elaborate miniature house was created in the 1930s by silent film star Colleen Moore. The Fairy Castle is filled with remarkable miniatures and artifacts and is a timeless reminder of the imagination, ingenuity and craftsmanship of cultures and artisans all over the world. It became a permanent exhibit when it was donated to the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago in 1949. The 9-square-foot castle features about 1,500 miniatures and cost nearly $500,000 at the time it was created. The tiny treasures, include:
- A painting done by Walt Disney himself, along with a dozen other pieces of original artwork from various artists
- The tiniest Bible ever to be written, dating back to 1840
- The dining room contains a replica of King Arthur’s round table
- Three statues of the Goddess Isis, more than 4,000 years old, in the Great Hall
